Regeneration Themes
Lowestoft is embracing, harnessing and promoting its unique position as the leading light and a place of ‘firsts’.
Lowestoft is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, unlocking its potential for sustainable growth that benefits both existing residents and new arrivals. Our regeneration plan is ambitious: attracting investment, delivering multi-million-pound projects, and showcasing the wide range of inward investment opportunities Lowestoft has to offer.
Change is already taking shape across the town. Landmark initiatives include the iconic Gull Wing river crossing, the major redevelopment of the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS), and the development of the Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility (LEEF) to support our world-leading offshore energy and marine sectors. Significant investment is has also been made in enhanced flood defences, revitalised public spaces, and the tremendous potential of tourism.
Lowestoft is further energised by vibrant community projects and high-profile cultural events, helping to shape its future as a dynamic, thriving coastal town.
