Improve and Protect Your Heart Health with Feel Good Suffolk in Lowestoft

East Suffolk Council are proud to bring you the Lowestoft Healthy Hearts project: a local initiative helping residents take control of their heart health, one small step at a time.

Delivered in partnership with Feel Good Suffolk, Suffolk's healthy lifestyle service, this programme offers friendly, practical group sessions designed to support lasting, heart-healthy habits.

Why is this so important?

Because over 7.6 million people in the UK are currently living with cardiovascular disease, and more than half of us are likely to develop it in our lifetime.

The good news is that many of the risk factors, like high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, inactivity and diet, can be managed with the right support. And that’s exactly what this programme is here to offer.

🫀 Healthy Hearts Group Programme

This friendly and practical programme runs over 4–6 weekly sessions and is open to anyone living in Lowestoft who’s ready to make a change - even if you’re not sure where to begin.

Each session is packed with useful tools, tips and techniques to help you build long-lasting habits that support your heart. Topics include:

  • Physical activity

  • Healthy eating

  • Alcohol & smoking

  • Stress and sleep

  • Weight management

  • Blood pressure (stand-alone session)

You’ll also explore goal setting, take part in group discussions, and try out habit-forming techniques that fit into everyday life.

What participants are saying

“I enjoyed being part of the group as I feel we were encouraged to share our experiences and challenges in a very nurturing way… we had become a nice, friendly and caring group.”

“Everyone would benefit from this course, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.”

“It gives you access to easy-to-follow information, with a wonderful tutor who really believes in the information that he is giving you and wants to help you live a better healthy life.”
