Kirkley Waterfront Consultation: July 2024

East Suffolk Council are starting to form a new plan for the former Sanyo and Survitec factory sites, north of Victoria Road and near the marina. Most of the site has stood vacant since 2009, with the Council acquiring the land in 2018 as part of its approach to assemble and accelerate the development of land in central areas of Lowestoft, intervening where the private sector has been unwilling or unable to proceed due to significant viability and market failure issues.

The Council has now been awarded funding from central government to remove the ground contamination that was left after the factories were demolished, and to prepare a new plan for how the sites should be used.

At this stage we would like to hear from you about housing need in the area, and what we should be thinking about as we start to develop our plans.

Find out more at our upcoming consultation event which will take place at:

St Marks C of E Church,
Bridge Road, Lowestoft NR33 9JM

17 July 2024
3-7pm

We will also be running an online survey where you can share your thoughts. The following survey will open for the consultation period on the 10th July 2024 and will run until the 6th August 2024. Please click here to complete the survey from 10 July 2024.
