Think Lowestoft: Funding workshop + Q&A with Julia Devonshire – Tuesday 8th February 2022

Join Julia Devonshire and the Virtual Creative Hub for hints and tips on how to structure funding applications.

Think Lowestoft’s Virtual Creative Hub welcomes Julia Devonshire (Original Projects) for our February workshop.

The workshop is suitable for creatives and cultural/creative organisations and will focus on three main areas:

  • understanding how to find funding opportunities and making good choices about which to apply for.
  • developing ideas for project that might be funded. With examples of what does get funding.
  • how to structure an application. Top tips, language, and what funders want to hear.

Julia’s broad professional experience of working in Arts and Culture spans contemporary art, heritage and cultural development (public sector, academic, artist-led and commercial). Devising and supporting the delivery of a range of solo and collaborative projects, events, and commissioned activity in the UK and abroad.

Her general ethos is grounded in grass-roots creative activity and engagement with diverse social, cultural and economic practices. Her ongoing concern is to work across the ‘sector’ to speculate, respond and inform; by enabling grass-roots communities and professionals to explore conventions, ideas, culture/ politics, theory and aesthetics, and facilitating interesting and serious, change-making projects, events and interventions.

Workshop: Tuesday 8th February 2022, 11am – 1.30pm
Q&A: 1 – 1.30pm
